At Swanson and Associates, we are familiar with a very wide variety of disabilities in children, youth, and adults. Given the large number of individuals we have seen, we have experience with relatively common conditions, as well as with many unusual syndromes that present unique combinations of mental health, physical, and neurological challenges.
By using a combination of background review, interview, observations, and standardized testing, we are able to make diagnoses and provide recommendations to empower individuals, families, and support teams to make informed decisions and implement strategies to ensure success.
We have considerable experience in the assessment of individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and Intellectual Developmental Disorder.
We are also well practiced in learning assessments. By examining areas such as cognitive abilities, academic skills, attention, and memory, we can determine an individual’s unique learning profile, determining eligibility for special education services and to gain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
We also assess individuals with a wide variety of mental health conditions, including mood, anxiety, adjustment and somatoform disorders, and the effect of such conditions on work performance. We are familiar with the interaction of disability, pain, and psychological variables, and provide specific recommendations based on referral questions.
